Senator Janet Nguyen and Assemblywoman Diane Dixon Deliver Letter To Governor Newsom Requesting Orange County Be Included To The State Of Emergency Declarations

Yesterday, California Senate Minority Caucus Chair, Senator Janet Nguyen (R-Huntington Beach), and Assemblywoman Diane Dixon (R- Newport Beach) delivered a letter to Governor Gavin Newsom asking to include Orange County to the State of Emergency Declarations currently in effect for numerous counties across the State of California. “Orange County has been hit hard by these past storms,” said Senator Janet Nguyen. “There has been significant damage to our coastal cities, with landslides and homes being red and yellow-tagged. I am working diligently to ensure my constituents have access to the funding provided by the state to cities included in the State of Emergency Declarations.” We respectfully ask for Orange County to be included in your State of Emergency Declaration in order for these communities to access needed funding in order to mitigate further damage and clean up and repair damages already sustained. We believe that the County of Orange will be asking to be included in the declaration at its next official Board of Supervisors meeting.
