Senate Bill 1015 creates a new offense penalizing predators who coerce or use a minor to harm, groom, harass, or exploit another minor. This bill expands California’s extortion statute by explicitly adding sexual conduct, intimate images, and explicit images generated by artificial intelligence (AI) to the categories of conduct that can be used to commit extortion.
