Legislative Democrats pass reckless anti-law enforcement bill

Senator Tony Strickland (R-Huntington Beach) released the following statement after legislative Democrats passed Senate Bill 627, an anti-law enforcement measure that would prohibit law enforcement officers, including federal agents, from wearing protective masks, which would make their jobs even more dangerous:

“This is a reckless anti-law enforcement proposal that puts law enforcement officers and their families at real risk, undermining the safety of the men and women who bravely protect our communities.

“It appears that this legislature is increasingly endangering the lives of law enforcement officers and restricting the essential tools and resources they need to do their jobs effectively. A clear example is Proposition 36, which received minimal funding from Democrats and was outright ignored by the governor

“California already has laws in the book mandating officers to identify themselves, and this measure seems to be a solution in search of a problem.”
