Today, Senator Tony Strickland (R-Huntington Beach) honoredStephanie Klopfenstein, Mayor of Garden Grove, as the Senate District 36 Woman of the Year, recognizing her exceptional leadership, dedication to public service, and lasting contributions to the community.
Mayor Klopfenstein joined more than 100 women from across California who were recognized during the California State Legislature's annual Woman of the Year celebration at the State Capitol. The honorees were selected by their respective legislators for their commitment to improving the lives of families, businesses, and students in their communities.
“Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein exemplifies the spirit of service and leadership that makes our communities stronger,” said Senator Strickland. “Her dedication to the residents of Garden Grove, her thoughtful approach to governance, and her commitment to building a vibrant and thriving city make her an outstanding choice for Senate District 36’s Woman of the Year. I am proud to recognize her achievements and grateful for her continued service.”
As the first woman elected mayor for the city of Garden Grove, Klopfenstein has championed efforts to strengthen city services, support local businesses, and promote community engagement throughout Garden Grove. Her leadership has helped foster collaboration between residents, businesses, and local government to ensure the city continues to grow and prosper.

The Woman of the Year ceremony is an annual tradition at the State Capitol, celebrating women whose leadership, service, and dedication have made a meaningful impact in communities throughout California.
