“Californians deserve a budget that prioritizes accountability, transparency, and results. Our caucus budget priorities focus on protecting taxpayers, championing public safety, and ensuring state programs deliver on their promises.

“At a time when Californians are facing rising costs and economic uncertainty, the state must be a responsible steward with taxpayer dollars. In our budget priority letter, my colleagues and I call for a renewed focus on core services.

“California has serious problems, and we need serious solutions from a serious leader.”

Some of the budget priorities in the letter are:

  • Fully fund Proposition 36, the anti-crime initiative.

  • Promote homeownership to preserve the American Dream.

  • Advocate for renter affordability.

  • Champion higher education opportunities for California students.
