Elected to represent the 36th Senate District during a special election in March, Senator Tony Strickland (R-Huntington Beach) held a festive grand opening celebration for his district office in Huntington Beach.

“My district office will serve as a vital resource for the community, acting as a front door to state government,” said Senator Strickland. “Working families, innovative small business owners, future student leaders, and seniors in my district can rely on this office to serve as a gateway to state government to assist them with casework, legislative inquiries, and community outreach.”

Since beginning his term nearly three months ago, Senator Strickland has introduced legislation, including Senate Bill 94, which aims to defund the controversial high-speed rail and redirect those funds to reduce the gas tax. Additionally, Senator Strickland called on California’s U.S Senators to support his efforts to overturn the state’s aggressive electric vehicle mandate, which seeks to ban gas-powered vehicles by 2035.

His committee assignments include:

  • Vice Chair, Senate Transportation Committee
  • Vice Chair, Senate Labor, Public Employment and Retirement
  • Senate Banking and Financial Institutions
  • Senate Business, Professions and Economic Development
  • Senate Energy, Utilities and Communications
  • Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo-Rail Corridor Resiliency (Subcommittee)
