California’s 36th Senate District, represented by Senator Tony Strickland, is home to countless women who make a meaningful difference in the lives of our friends and neighbors across a wide range of fields, including education, health care, nutrition, business, and community service.
Each year, one exceptional woman from Senate District 36 is selected to be honored as Woman of the Year in recognition of her outstanding contributions and lasting impact on the community. The honoree will be invited to the State Capitol and formally recognized during a special ceremony on the floor of the California State Senate.
Community members are encouraged to nominate a deserving woman who resides in the 36th Senate District, which includes the cities and communities of Los Angeles and Orange Counties, including Artesia, Buena Park, Cerritos, Cypress, Dana Point, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Hawaiian Gardens, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Rossmoor, San Clemente, Seal Beach, Stanton, and Westminster.
Please submit your nomination, including community and business leaders, educators, colleagues, friends, or family members. Please note that previous Woman of the Year honorees and elected officials are not eligible.
To nominate a woman, please complete the form below or submit the required information by email. All nominations must be received by Friday, February 20, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Following the submission deadline, a selection committee will carefully review all nominations and select the district’s 2026 Woman of the Year.
